Spotted no.2

Although written in English, this picture comes to you from the Netherlands. I spotted this sign in a furniture store during a nighttime stroll around Haarlem:

For me, the television advice used to be true, but now it needs to read: stop messing about on the internet. The online world can be a complete productivity black hole…

100 happy days – 1st two weeks

As previously blogged, we are taking part in the social media challenge 100 happy days which is simple: take a picture of something which makes you happy every day for 100 days.

Here are some highlights from my first couple of weeks I wanted to share (click on the images or put your arrow over them to read the captions).

Hopefully we’ll be blogging more of them soon. I haven’t found the challenge difficult to keep up; apparently “not having enough time” was the main reason cited as to why people fail to meet the 100 days, but I’ve been finding it a nice reminder to enjoy the little things. It’s also meant that I’ll have a nice mini-blog of this year!

100 Happy Days

Stumbled upon this idea on the timesuck that is Buzzfeed the other day and we have decided to give it a go. If you don’t know what the 100happydays challenge is, I’ll explain in one sentence:

For 100 days you take a picture of something that made you happy. That’s it.book_1_png_1000x1000

There’s a website connected to the idea, where you can sign up to be officially part of it, but there’s nothing to say that you couldn’t do it independently. I have a feeling that mine are going to be dominated by food and books as this is where many of my day-to-days smiles come from, but it will still be interesting to see what those 100 days look like at the end. (It’s lucky that I don’t own a dog yet or it would be 100 days of dachshund!)

Wish us luck! We’ll be posting some of our best pictures on here, so if you decide to join in, let us know!
